Evangelist Franklin Graham called President Barack Obama's religious views into question on Tuesday, stating that he does not know for sure if Obama is a Christian.

But Graham was more willing to label Newt Gingrich's faith. "Newt's been married several times... but he could make a good candidate," Graham said. "I think Newt is a Christian. At least he told me he is."

Later in the segment, Graham also said he could not be sure that Obama was not a Muslim.

"All I know is under Obama, President Obama, the Muslims of the world, he seems to be more concerned about them than the Christians that are being murdered in the Muslim countries

So because Newt says he is, Graham is sure he is, but when President Obama says he is, he isn't so sure. In fact, he can't even be sure he's not a Muslim.

Billy Graham would be so disappointed, because Frank is just playing on his father's reputation and is nothing more than a political hack for the right.

Franklin Graham is no Billy that's for sure. Maybe he should stick to his ministry and leave politics to the politicians.

I wonder if he knows what his ministry is, and how he is qualified to make a call about who is Christian who isn't. Perhaps he's forgotten that

we are saved through grace, not through works, lest any man should boast.

Also if he wants to look at "works" then he should take a closer look at Gingrich, and Santorum away from his "sex platform.
This is the man who said that Donald Trump was a Christian because he shared some political platform with him. Trump who said, "yea the Bible is an important book, I mean it's on the best seller list.

Franklin Graham would definitely be qualified to make an opinion and that's just what he said. He isn't sure about Obama because Obama's acts towards Christians don't measure the same concern as his acts toward Muslim countries. Franklin doesn't have to ride on his father's coat tails because he is in his own right a missionary. Franklin has gone all over this world in missionary efforts and would be much better to speak about what goes on in Muslim countries because he's been there. Franklin is not standing up for Newt he is simply saying that even though Newt has been divorced that he (Newt) has professed to be a Christian. Franklin said "I think" not I'M SURE. As for passing judgment on everyone who professes to be a Christian but still sins... I would rather be the one who still sins than the one pointing it out.

Obama because Obama's acts towards Christians don't measure the same concern as his acts toward Muslim countries

Which an absurd statement, but if one repeats it enough then people believe it.

I will research the comments I made about Obama's appearance of concern favoring Muslims and get back to you on specific things that have happened in the country to cause this opinion for myself.

        1. One thing I remember from last year is that Obama did not make a public statement about Easter but instead made a public statement about the month of Ramadan. Yesterday was Fat Tuesday (not worth public comment) but today was the start of Passover. I personally wouldn't make public comment but I would guess that this year Obama will watch his P's and Q's and make an Easter statement. 2. Obama also has celebrated a Ramadan dinner in the White House since he was elected. Ramadan is a Muslim traditional not to be confused with Easter which is a Christian tradition. 3. There's also the uproar over Obama VERY publicly defending a Muslim construction project of an Islamic Center near Ground Zero. The president of the US should not have weighed in on this subject for either side. But fairness or not he should have let a courtroom determine the outcome. 4. He bowed before the king of Saudia Arabia, but not to Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II. 5. Here's another one--- "But for me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus's teaching that "for unto whom much is given, much shall be required." It mirrors the Islamic belief that those who've been blessed have an obligation to use those blessings to help others, or the Jewish doctrine of moderation and consideration for others." National Day of Prayer Breakfast first since being president. Did Obama just align Jesus eating with Gentiles -to having the right to ask for more taxes? Hum, Jesus wanted us to minister to the unbeliever's so that's where he went. Since I'm not as computer savvy here's the link Does he always have to bring the Muslim spin to everything he has to say? I'm a Christian and I rarely mention Muslim beliefs. 6. Obama was a faithful Jeremiah Wright church attender until the pastor was called under fire for his very anti-American beliefs (20 years of preaching) and since then Obama has not attended a church regularly barely at all. You don't have to attend a church to be a Christian but the church is the body of Christ meaning the "church" is not a building it's a "people". If you don't surround yourself with like minded people who can fellowship with you - you are more likely to fall away. But since his pastor used his pulpit to spew anti-American sentiments, perhaps Obama thinks he's a Christian. Here's how you spot a Christian - if it looks like a rose, smells like a rose and acts like a rose - it's a rose. A camellia may look like a rose, bloom like a rose but sooner or later you notice that some can bloom all year and don't have thorns. 7. Although this excerpt is taken from Fox News it can still show that Obama is more in line with Palestine and harder on his stance with Israel. 8. Obama felt the previous presidents didn't know how to finesse Iran and thus needed someone like him and his Muslim heritage to show an understanding. This thought process might have worked but it didn't. Because of the "finesse" we now have greater problems with Iran.

        9. I don't fool myself that US presidents have always used power and many time negatively in the world to gain the power the US wants. The problem Obama has brought to our door is two-fold: he supports the Arab Spring which has caused democratic uprising in many Middle Eastern countries. Democratic uprising may have a US appeal in sound but here's the end result - the US is losing control in those very countries and we all know that's what we want all over the world and since the Muslim countries have jumped on board with the Arab Spring (now many more names) Israel has become isolated. And the wonderful US who supported these uprising isn't favored in those countries either as many of us have expected. I say that with sarcasm because the real American's know the threat of middle eastern nations. Didn't we learn anything from Castro and Ortega did in Cuba and Nicaragua?

I could not get my links to hold in the last comments. You should be able to find them in the Washington Post, Fox News and Oregon Live websites. Although many others have the same information I stuck strictly to newspaper organizations that can be reviewed and mass produced.

Franklin Graham is a repulsive individual. Considering what has come out of Santorum's mouth lately and 4 years ago, it appears that by Franklin's definition, a Christian is one who spews hateful rhetoric towards other people. I am proud NOT to meet his definition of a Christian.

I reread the entire article on the Huffington Post and think there are some wording issues that need to be explained. When Franklin Graham (FG) said Santorum was a man of faith he wasn't saying that he was a Christian. FG said Santorum has morals. He didn't say he agreed with his faith. Being a Christian is saying that you have a personal relationship with Jesus and have accepted Him as your savior and you commit your life to loving God, loving others and spreading the gospel. It is also being careful about making any specific comments that could cause someone else to stumble in their walk. There are so many answers that FG gave in the interview that are careful not to make someone else judge. He's saying personally he's not sure about Obama. I would be interested to know what hateful rhetoric FG has heard that Santorum has said and responded to in a passive manner? A Christian will uphold someone when they are on the right path. They also are charged to help someone change if they aren't. What a Christian isn't charged to do is to call out someone who has fallen and on the wrong path in front of the nation. A Christian will instead privately counsel that person. This you will never see in the news because confronting sinful behavior with the intention of change of heart of the sinner is done in private. So to say that because FG has praised someone's beliefs at one point does not forever praise that person. Is there specific instance that FG has defended hateful rhetoric of Santorum?

Still not clear on why the attack on Franklin Graham and not on the individual of whom he referring? Here's a little background on FG. FG started working at Samaritan's Purse 30 years ago. Look up in the bible the story behind the Good Samaritan. They were originally thought to be less quality. The Samaritan man was the only one who helped the injured man on the road. Next: millions of boxes of toys are delivered to children across the world everyday because of his desire to share the gospel. He is allowed in countries that other US people aren't allowed. He even delivers toy boxes to children without teaching the gospel if necessary. Samaritan's Purse funds disaster relief in the US and other countries. There are medical mission teams who travel most third world countries. Pretty sure he's done more for humanitarian aid that any other large organization. He's certainly done it with more volunteers. Back to the judgmental statement about the "repulsive individual" remember that because someone makes a positive comment about a person one time does not blanket their entire life. What are the vile views Santorum has that offend the masses?
